In 2025, the Rico Trails Alliance (RTA) made meaningful progress in strengthening trails, community, and our capacity to support non-motorized trails in the upper Dolores watershed.
As the snow melts, we are reminded that summer is right around the corner. But as we look ahead, lets also reflect on the successful year RTA had in 2021 thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and contractors. 2022 will be another busy year for RTA!
Rico Trails Alliance (RTA) was founded in 2017 to promote local and regional trail systems in and around Rico, Colorado, with a focus on access, development, and use of non-motorized trails. As the snow starts to fall and the snowbike groomer is once again pulled out for the winter season, it’s a great time to reflect on RTA’s 2020 accomplishments.
Rico Trails Alliance (RTA) was started in the spring of 2017 by residents of Rico interested in expanding non-motorized recreation in the area, improving quality of life and bringing economic benefit to Rico.
In 2024, RTA made significant strides in organizational development and trail infrastructure. Grant awards from The Rico Center and Telluride Foundation enabled the creation of RTA’s first three-year strategic plan and the development of other essential tools.
