RTA recently received preliminary approval in May from the Town of Rico to design and build a mountain bike flow trails and skills park on Town of Rico land above the Deadwood 4×4 road.
The preliminary concept includes one singletrack multi-use non-motorized trail to the top of the town parcel, and two downhill-only directional non-motorized mountain bike trails with features like berms, jumps, and rollers. Parking would be parallel on CO-145 across from the former Tamosan coffee shop near Mountain Top Fuel where the highway has a wide shoulder on the east side.
Existing uses of roads and trails in the area would not change.
RTA is soliciting community input on this project. Please provide your input to info@ricotrailsalliance.org with the subject “Rico Flow Trails and Skills Park” by July 6, 2020.
