Have Thoughts on How Our Trails Should be Managed? Email your input by Monday and attend our July 25th Meeting (6:30pm @ Town Hall)!
Want a trail connecting Rico to Salt Creek/Montelores Bridge along the Dolores River? Have thoughts on how our regional trails should be managed?
The Rico Trails Alliance is seeking input before we finalize and submit our comments to USFS on the Travel Management Project for trails in the region. USFS will use these comments to determine the fate of our local trails.
The Forest Service is considering changing current trail designations (motorized vs. non-motorized), timing restrictions, adding a trail going south from town along the river, and decommissioning certain roads and trails. Now is your chance to shape how this will happen!
Please take the time to review the proposed alternatives @ http://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=44918. A good place to start is with the provided maps and Appendix C, which describes how each alternative will affect each area.
RTA would prefer if comments are e-mailed to info@ricotrailsalliance.org by Monday night. We also encourage everyone to attend our July 25th board meeting, where we’ll discuss this input and finalize our comments for submittal.
