Argentine Trail / Silver Creek Road
Silver Creek, made up of the Argentine and Enterprise Trails, is on the east side of Rico and follows scenic old mining roads. The Argentine Trail portion (mapped at the bottom of the page in yellow) is a gradual climb from town, about 1 mile up to the mines. This portion of the road is groomed during the winter for multi-use activity, including fat tire (snow) biking and nordic skiing (more information on winter trail use is available here). For mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners, continue on Silver Creek Road past the Argentine Mine to the upper section of doubletrack which has some steep and rocky sections that connect to the Circle Trail and eventually the Colorado Trail. Lots of historic mining and alpine scenery, including an old ore tram you ride under.
